Delivering high-speed performance, superior image quality and a unique combination of sheet-fed and flatbed scanning capabilities, the Canon DR-4580U Universal Scanner was built to easily handle a wide variety of heavy-duty image processing jobs and mixed media. A 200-sheet Automatic Document Feeder allows flexible uninterrupted batch scanning of mixed documents at processing speeds up to 56 pages per minute (simplex) and 92 images per minute (duplex). Automatic paper size detection instantly adjusts for varying page sizes, thicknesses and weights--virtually eliminating the need labor-intensive presorting and rescanning--while a double-feed detector prevents image loss due to mis-feeds. Got a document that can’t be processed in the feeder? Just place it on the Canon DR-4580U's 11" x 17" flatbed—perfect for scanning books, bound materials and fragile originals.

The Canon DR-4580U also features image enhancement technology, enabling users to fine tune brightness, contrast, white level, noise reduction, and image inversion. Most image enhancement functions can be selected using a control panel located on the front of the unit, and customized settings can be stored in memory for instant recall. Or, if you wish, process an entire job automatically, from instructions on a preprinted control sheet. Other standard features include: bar-code detection/decoding, patch-code sensing and a variety of correction tools such as hole-punch removal, deskew and border erasure.
