| Overview |
|
WebCRD from Rochester Software Associates combines the convenience of the Internet with the power of today’s digital print engines to help simplify and streamline the print fulfillment and management process from beginning to end. With WebCRD, users can submit, manage, reorder, and output digital printing jobs to their in-house print facilities quickly and accurately using the Internet or their company’s Intranets. No manual ticketing or tracking is required; the entire process is managed and monitored via the web or email--keeping both document authors and print center operators completely in the loop at all times.

Using an attractive and highly-intuitive user interface, users easily submit single or multi-document print jobs directly to printers in a simple, one-step process. Once jobs have been scheduled and assigned to print queues, WebCRD automatically creates either properly formatted electronic job tickets or PostScript for that specific printer. This enables print center operators to submit print jobs directly to production printers for output without reentering information into a Windows print driver. It also reduces the number of production steps in the print center, and that can improve operator productivity and minimize the opportunity for error.
WebCRD also offers two automated PDF creation and workflow options:
- SurePDF™, for client-based PDF generation, automatically creates a PDF on the user’s computer, providing a proof for immediate viewing and acceptance prior to job submission. Users merely have to enter the “Print to WebCRD” to submit the job to their print center.
- CentralPDF™, for server-based environments unable to install SurePDF on each workstation, delivers PDF conversion of some of the most frequently used native application formats on a standalone server.
WebCRD is delivered on a scalable, secure, and reliable Sun platform. This provides high security and reliability along with the simplicity of a browser-based interface. Authorized personnel can perform print and administration functions for the Java-based application from any desktop on the network. The Sun platform requires little ongoing IT support to maintain this level of security and delivers high up-time to minimize interruptions in production printing environment.
