| Overview |
|
IKON PowerPRESS™ universal server is a front-end system designed to streamline document workflows through a broad array of digital pre-press and make-ready tools. Leveraging the latest in platform and operating system technology, this IKON-exclusive enables high-volume users to spread work across multiple devices (in the process, reducing production time), while providing a cost-effective means of integrating digital color capabilities into their output.

Developed in conjunction with T/R Systems, IKON PowerPRESS is capable of driving up to 12 devices from IKON's best-in-class lineup of B&W and color copiers/printers. That’s not all; it also connects and controls virtual print clusters of up to eight engines. But what really makes IKON PowerPRESS unique is that it enables you to integrate devices from multiple manufacturer platforms (including Ricoh, and Océ) into one server configuration…and adapt and reconfigure as your needs change.
IKON PowerPRESS’ open and modular architecture enables complete customization and a seamless upgrade path to add printers, processing power and functionality as your needs grow. IKON PowerPRESS is available in three scalable configurations:
- Series I - an entry-level model that brings advanced workflow tools to workgroups and smaller organizations, driving up to four devices.
- Series II - a cost effective solution for print centers, combining T/R Systems’ patented workflow and clustering technologies, driving and clustering up to four devices.
- Series III - a fully-featured power server designed to meet the demands of high production print environments, driving up to 12 engines and clustering up to eight devices with flexible, powerful workflow and complete fault-tolerance.
The IKON PowerPRESS server solution builds upon the proven technologies of the T/R Systems’ popular MicroPress, combining many of MicroPress’ premier job and color management tools (such as TRueEdit, TRuePrint, and TRueCluster) with a number of new, IKON-exclusive features such as VIPP data stream support, dual monitors and extended storage. PowerPRESS also offers a full-line-up of easy-to-use functions, including: advanced tab handling, page level control of thumbnails, automatic splitting of B&W and color output, reintegration of color pages into B&W documents, and cluster printing.

| Application & Environment |
IKON PowerPRESS integrates seamlessly with existing and emerging digital technologies in virtually any print setting. The high-end functionality and performance features of IKON PowerPRESS make it a perfect solution for a wide variety of paper-intensive production environments including: large corporate workgroups/in-plant facilities, central reprographic departments, and print-for-pay shops. But it’s not just big organizations that can benefit from IKON PowerPRESS; because it’s scalable, IKON PowerPRESS is equally well-suited for low- and mid-volume print shops, office workgroups and graphic arts firms. Smaller organizations can easily start off with a basic configuration, such as the IKON PowerPRESS Series I, then upgrade to a more robust server solution, like the IKON PowerPRESS Series III, as their workflow production needs expand.

Benefits: |
| Variable Data Intelligent PostScript PrintWare (VIPP) Data Stream Support |
Converts proprietary VIPP data streams to PS, PDF or PCL format for output on any supported network print device or for integration into other applications, allowing users to utilize existing data from a database or legacy system to build dynamic documents. Accepts and processes VIPP data streams that were destined specifically for Xerox devices, and enables users to print to any PostScript-compatible device within the network – all from the convenience of the IKON PowerPRESS graphical user interface. |
| Extended Storage |
Integrates Westbrook Technologies document management software with a Dell Network Addressable Storage (NAS) Server, allowing users to store fully composed documents with job ticketing, images and more. Offers up to 480 GB for digital archiving/retrieval of old files, sharing new files, housing special projects or temporary spillover storage. |
| Dual Monitor Configuration |
Expands the viewable work area to twice that of standard solutions, allowing users to concurrently work with multiple production-level software applications via a single keyboard. |
| T/R Systems Utilities |
