The basic Ricoh Aficio MP 171 version offers copy functionality and the modular design enables the MP 171 to be optimally equipped with the Scanner/Printer kit and offers the optional hard disk drive (HDD).
The Ricoh Aficio MP 171F offers copy and fax functionality and this model cannot be upgraded to include print and scan capability or the optional hard disk drive (HDD).

The Ricoh Aficio MP 171SPF offers copy, fax, print and scan functionality standard. Enhanced features include standard Color Scanning, Scan to E-mail/Folder, Internet Fax, LAN Fax and IP Fax capabilities, as well as important security features, such as Windows Authentication and Encryption. In addition, the optional Hard Disk Drive allows for advanced printing functionality such as Sample, Locked, Hold, Stored and Store and Print, as well as Paperless Fax with E-mail notification.

This is a very useful capability even when the Aficio MP 171 Series is also connected to the network. Visiting field personnel, vendors, clients, etc. can connect a laptop computer directly to the Aficio MP 171 Series and print documents – without a network login. |
